Summary
- The app has no account, no ads and no analytics or tracking tools.
- Everything about your child (a name if a parent types one, progress, stars, pets, math points, reports, settings) stays on the device.
- Voice and handwriting are processed on the device. We never receive them.
- The app uses the internet only to download chapters and data packs. It sends none of your child's data when it does.
Children's privacy
Sugama is made for children, so we keep to these rules:
- We do not collect personal information from children. No account, email or phone number is needed to play.
- No ads, no third-party advertising or analytics tools, no tracking across other apps.
- No chat, no strangers, nothing is posted or shared online.
- Your child's voice is recognized on the device and sent nowhere.
- “Save child's voice” is off by default. If a parent turns it on, spoken answers are kept on the device to tune the recognizer; turning it off deletes them all.
- Parents delete all of the child's data by deleting the app from the device.
If you think we have received information about a child, write to us and we will check and delete it.
Data on the device
The app keeps these in its own storage on the device:
- The child's name (if typed) and the chosen buddy.
- Chapter progress, stars, pets and star-shop items.
- Math points and daily figures for the reports.
- Settings (way of answering, difficulty, volumes, language).
- Question packs a parent picks, and reports when a parent taps “Save report”.
- An error log used to fix bugs. It also stays on the device.
None of this is sent to us or anyone else. If the device makes backups (for example iCloud or Google), the app's data may be part of that backup, according to the device settings.
Microphone, voice and handwriting
The app uses the microphone only when “Speak” is chosen as the way of answering. The sound is recognized on the device to find the number your child said, then dropped, unless a parent turned on “Save child's voice” (see Children's privacy). Nothing goes online.
Handwriting is read on the device by Hoang LLC's reader. Release versions do not send handwriting online.
Downloads
Chapters 2 to 5, the handwriting reader and the voice data come from Hoang LLC's content server. As with any download, the server receives the device's IP address to send the files back. The app sends no name, progress or other data about your child with it, and we do not use downloads to identify anyone.
Purchases
The app does not sell stars, virtual money or random items. If a paid plan is added later, payment is handled by the App Store or Google Play; we never receive card or payment account details.
This website
sugama.hoang.jp is a static website. It uses no cookies and loads no fonts, images or scripts from other companies.
When statistics are turned on, the site uses only Hoang LLC's own page counter (Umami, at analytics.hoang.jp). It uses no cookies, does not follow you across sites, and counts nothing when the browser sends “Do Not Track”. It only counts page views and a few button presses on this site.
Changes
When the app or the website changes how it uses data, we update this page and the date at the top.
